Land and Ancestral Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that Through the Trees Environmental Institute operates on the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabeg nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, known as Tkaronto.

We also acknowledge the legacy of slavery in this region and pay respect to the ancestors of African descent who were enslaved and those who sought freedom here. We commit to working towards a future that is relational, just, and rooted in place for all peoples.
